Fully vaccinated people who get a COVID-19 breakthrough infection can transmit the virus, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said Thursday.
“Our vaccines are working exceptionally well,” Walensky told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “They continue to work well for Delta, with regard to severe illness and death — they prevent it. But what they can’t do anymore is prevent transmission.”
That’s why the CDC changed its guidance last week and is now recommending even vaccinated people wear masks indoors again, Walensky said.
Last week, the agency released a study that showed the Delta variant produced similar amounts of virus in vaccinated and unvaccinated people if they got infected — data that suggests vaccinated people who get a breakthrough infection could have a similar tendency to spread the virus as the unvaccinated.
“If you’re going home to somebody who has not been vaccinated, to somebody who can’t get vaccinated, somebody who might be immunosuppressed or a little bit frail, somebody who has comorbidities that put them at high risk, I would suggest you wear a mask in public indoor settings,” Walensky said.
The dangerous Delta variant has fueled the country’s latest surge of Covid-19 cases and if more Americans don’t get vaccinated and mask up, the country could soon be seeing “several hundred thousand cases a day,” similar to the winter surge, Walensky said.
And while states across the South — including Florida and Louisiana — have seen exponential rises in cases, Walensky said, they have not reached their peak just yet.

COVID-19: Delta infections may produce similar virus levels regardless of vaccination status, early analysis suggests
Coronavirus levels in people with the Delta variant may be similar regardless of whether or not they’ve been vaccinated – and it could have implications for infectiousness, early analysis suggests.
Public Health England’s (PHE) said initial findings suggested “levels of virus in those who become infected with Delta having already been vaccinated may be similar to levels found in unvaccinated people”.
“This may have implications for people’s infectiousness, whether they have been vaccinated or not,” it added.
It stressed it was “early exploratory analysis” and that more targeted studies were needed to give confirmation

China is currently experiencing a surge in coronavirus cases nationwide. China has long faced suspicion of reporting low case numbers to minimize the severity of its outbreaks. Government action, however, betrays a more dire situation as the government has since cut off almost all transportation into and out of the national capital in an effort to limit the spread of the virus.

“The Government calls on private bars, restaurants and nightclubs to be cautious in the events that they hold, to strictly control numbers and to ensure that clients are vaccinated and have a negative COVID-19 test result,” the government wrote in their announcement of the restrictions.
“At this point in time the Government is not considering introducing legislation to control catering establishments and nightclubs, but this is of course a possibility should cases continue to rise regardless,” they continued.
“While all of this is inconvenient and burdensome, it is important that we continue to work together, as we have done up to now, in reducing the risk of transmission and once again obliterating COVID-19 in the community,” the government added.
Throughout the West, government have begun to re-impose the mask mandates due to the lack of efficacy of the vaccines, which is then blamed on the individuals who refused the shots by the mass media and the so-called public health experts.

“We need to prepare the public for what could be, again, a return to some of these mitigation measures,” former Trump-appointed surgeon general Jerome Adams said during an appearance on the Indianapolis TV station WISH-TV on Sunday. He added that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) should “hit the reset button” and demand mask mandates.
“The best protection everybody has is masks,” said Kimberly Prather, an academic with the University of California, San Diego, who wholeheartedly supports a new indoor mask mandate.
“While delta numbers are going up – and if I’m in a crowded outdoor location with lots of people yelling – I would be wearing a mask,” she added.“

Baylor College of Medicine Professor Peter Hotez has published a paper suggesting it should be a “hate crime” to criticize Dr Anthony Fauci and other scientists.
Dr. Hotez, who is a frequent guest on MSNBC and CNN, lobbied for criminal punishments to be introduced in a recently published paper called Mounting Antiscience Aggression in the United States.
According to Hotez, a “band of ultraconservative members of the US Congress and other public officials with far-right leanings are waging organized and seemingly well-coordinated attacks against prominent US biological scientists.”
This is apparently emboldening “far-right extremists” who are engaging in “antiscience aggression” by questioning the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the vaccine rollout.
Hotez trots out the usual Nazi comparisons to emotionally assert, “Not taking action is a tacit endorsement, and a guarantee that the integrity and productivity of science in the United States will be eroded or lose ground.”

France Threatens to Imprison Restaurant Owners Who Serve the “Unvaccinated”
France’s tyrannical mandatory Covid-19 vaccination program is further restricting the freedoms of citizens and is even threatening some restaurant owners with possible arrest.
Restaurants that refuse to check customers’ vaccine passports could face prosecution by the state for failing to keep everyone “safe” from the “deadly virus.”
Prime Minister Macron announced last month that from 21st July, French citizens would have to prove that they had received the Covid jabs, had tested negative, or were immune to enter a theatre, cinema, sports venue, or festival. However, from 1st August the same requirement was extended to bars, cafes, restaurants, shopping centers, hospitals, and for long-distance travel.
People unable to present a vaccine passport risk up to six months in prison and a fine of up to €10,000 (£8,500). Owners of “establishments welcoming the public” who fail to check customers’ passes could face a year in jail and be hit with a €45,000 fine.
From September, France will also be ceasing its “non-essential” free Covid testing program to “further encourage vaccination”, and healthcare workers and care home staff who fail to get vaccinated by the 15th September will be suspended for a month to allow them to do so. Thereafter, they risk being fired.
According to the latest figures, around 66% of French adults have allegedly received one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, whilst 53% are now fully vaccinated. If the figures are accurate, this means that more than half of the French population have received a dose of the experimental gene therapy.
However, this is not enough for Macron as he wants to see all French citizens submit their bodies to “science” at “warp speed”, if possible. The prime minister is giving remaining unvaccinated individuals around a month and a half to get jabbed, or else.
Macron’s “models” suggest that upwards of 35,000 new “cases” of the deadly virus could emerge daily if the “vaccine-hesitant” continue to refuse vaccination. This, he says, warrants further coercive measures for “maximum inducement” to ensure France avoids a deadly “fourth wave”, along with corresponding lockdowns.
“Oliver Véran, France’s health minister announced: “The choice is between another lockdown or the health pass – this is not punishment, nor blackmail.”
Whilst protests against the disturbing measures continue to erupt within the country, the mainstream media claims that about half of the French population supports Macron’s agenda, whilst the other half continue to value personal privacy, choice, and civil liberty. The media have also reported that an estimated three out of four French people supposedly support mandatory vaccination for health professionals and travelers.
“I’m afraid it’s going to be complicated,” said Jean Hubert, a member of the hotel and catering industries association, about the practicalities of implementing Macron’s medical fascism.
“Our role is to welcome people, to give pleasure. This will turn us into gendarmes.”
Many other business owners feel similar, warning that if customers have to “pay to get tested to have a beer, they’re just not going to come.”
A collective of furious business owners is scheduled to meet with the chief of police in Paris to discuss the situation and come up with a solution. A large majority of business owners have indicated that they will not comply with Macron’s measures, no matter what he tries to tell them to do.
Piers Morgan Calls for Unvaccinated to be Denied Medical Treatment
Since Piers Morgan left Good Morning Britain in a tantrum, he has been having to find ways to get attention and stay relevant. As a result, he has been leading the charge for unvaccinated people to face government-sanctioned discrimination after he stated that those who haven’t had the Covid vaccine should be denied medical treatment.
In a tweet, Piers said: “Those who refused to be vaccinated, with no medical reason not to, should be refused NHS care if they then catch covid. I’m hearing of anti-vaxxers using up ICU beds in London at vast expense to the taxpayer. Let them pay for their own stupidity & selfishness.”
Of course, Morgan failed to mention that the official data shows that 87% of people who have died were vaccinated. From the 26th of June to the 23rd July 2021, Public Health Scotland (PHS) claims that 38,067 positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in the unvaccinated population. However, within the same time frame, just 15,485 positive cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in the fully vaccinated population.

France, Italy Set To Unleash Increasingly-Restrictive COVID-19 Health Passes

Unvaccinated citizens of France and Italy are set to face tighter restrictions after officials ruled in favor of COVID-19 health passes for those attempting to enter restaurants, bars, and hospitals, as well as travel.
In France, the country’s top constitutional authority on Aug. 5 agreed with most aspects of a new law that requires citizens to carry a special COVID-19 health pass from next week onwards.
A health pass is only given to those who have been fully vaccinated, recently recovered from an infection, or recently tested negative from the virus.
The new restrictions mean residents will only be allowed to access cafes, restaurants, and, in some cases, hospitals, if they show the health pass.
While the pass has been in effect in France since July 21 for cultural and recreational venues, including cinemas, concert halls, and theme parks with capacity for more than 50 people, the new law vastly extends its application.
The Constitutional Council also ruled Thursday that the passes would be required for long-distance travel by train, plane, or bus, The Associated Press reported.
It also approved a ruling that health care workers should be vaccinated against the virus by Sept. 15 and hospital visitors will also require a health pass.
The special court did strike down several measures in the law, including the automatic 10-day isolation of people infected with the virus only being allowed to go outside for only two hours per day, which it said goes against French freedoms.
It struck down suspension of short-term contracts for those without a health pass – while accepting a suspension without remuneration of salaried employees with long-term contracts.
President Emmanuel Macron announced the proposed legislation in July and it was sped urgently through parliament last week amid an increase in COVID-19 cases in the country due to the highly contagious delta variant.
However, opponents of the measures accuse Macron of trampling on freedoms and discriminating against the unvaccinated.
The court’s recent ruling sparked protests in front of the Constitutional Council in Paris, with several hundred people denouncing the ruling, while more protests are planned for this weekend.

In a similar move on Thursday, government officials in Italy also announced that citizens will be required to show proof of at least one dose of vaccine, a negative coronavirus test, or recent recovery from COVID-19 in order to enter a number of public places.
As of Aug. 6, the pass will be required to go to gyms, swimming pools, sports stadiums, museums, spas, casinos, and cinemas. Eating in indoor restaurants also requires a pass.
Known as a “green pass,” the digital or paper certificate will also be mandatory for travelers on trains, planes, ships, and inter-city coaches from Sept. 1.
Previously, it was only needed for travel within the European Union and to gain access to care homes or large wedding receptions within the country.
Teachers must also show proof of immunity from COVID-19 before entering the classroom, and will not be allowed to work without it.
Staff without passes for five days straight will be suspended and will no longer be paid, Reuters reported.
“The Green Pass is essential if we want to keep businesses open,” Prime Minister Mario Draghi told reporters.
Back in March, just one month after taking office, Draghi also made it mandatory for health workers to be vaccinated.
“The choice of the government is to invest as much as possible in the Green Pass to avoid closures and to safeguard freedom,” Health Minister Roberto Speranza told reporters.
Italy has so far vaccinated almost 60 percent of its population but is experiencing an increase in cases and hospitalizations amid the spread of the CCP virus delta variant.
The country reported 27 coronavirus-related deaths on Thursday against 21 the day before, the health ministry said, while the daily tally of new infections rose to 7,230 from 6,596.
