Seymour Hersh Warns US Has Plan B in Ukraine
WASHINGTON – United States of America (US) can be directly involved in the conflict Ukraine if it sees that the Kiev troops are in a disadvantageous position. This was revealed by the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Seymour Hersh.
Speaking at an event in Washington organized by the Committee for Republicans, a non-profit organization, Hersh noted that the US did stupid things during the Vietnam War, and suggested Washington could start doing something else in the Ukraine conflict.
“I don’t know what happens if Ukraine goes bad, you have all this manpower,” he said, pointing out that the US had sent units of the elite 82nd and 101st airborne divisions near the Ukrainian border, while a lot of guns and weapons were coming to Europe.
“I was told that the game is: this is NATO, we support NATO in offensive operations against Russia, which will not fool the world. This is us against Russia,” said Hersh, without disclosing his sources as quoted by RT, Thursday (16/3/2023).
According to Hersh, the big problem is that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to reach an agreement with the Ukrainian government.
“The deal is demilitarization, and we are not going to do that,” the journalist said, adding that the Russian leader had not yet put his main power in the conflict
Summing up the Ukrainian conflict, Hersh argued: “We’re probably just kidding about what happened there and what the results were.”
He then recalled the battle of Stalingrad during World War II, when Soviet troops suffered heavy losses but still emerged victorious.
