Am realizing I’m a disorderly reader. Before seeing the headline for this video, I wrote a comment mentioning home gardening for the video & text about disrupted food supplies from Russia. (The comment is awaiting ‘moderation’; not sure why. May be the word I used, pronounced ‘b u t’ but spelled with 2 ‘t’s ?!? Understandable if it’s the system algorithm or whatever.)
My friend Sol points out a really significant line in the text for the video above: “… people realize it is UP TO US to feed our families going forward!” Because it’s symbolic of the fast-moving trend among governments to let citizens themselves solve the problems that have gotten too complex for authorities to handle.
Witness in Canada where it’s now the responsibility of individual Canadians to deal with the coronavirus pandemic; e.g., they are the deciders on whether or not to wear a mask, as rules for the most part are being waived.
With the new variant BA.2 taking hold, I’m tending to see chaos ahead. The pandemic has stressed workers already in critical areas, such as postal service, medical care, also food availability and distribution.
So it’s about difficulties all around.
