Geoengineering and the Paris Agreement

Geoengineering and the Paris Agreement

Through Robert Deutsch I have found the agreement that governments signed up to at Paris in 2016

You can find the agreement HERE  or HERE

Robert discussed a paper called “The Paris Agreement and Climate Engineering Governance”

The Paris Agreement and Climate Geoengineering Governance: The Need for a Human Rights-Based Component

Will Burns, The Paris Agreement and Climate Geoengineering Governance: The Need for a Human Rights Component, CIGI Papers No. 111, Centre for International Governance Innovation (Nov. 2016)

In which it is stated:

“Sulfur aerosol injection is considered the most technologically feasible geoengineering option and thus, the most actively investigated currently. SAI seeks to enhance planetary albedo surface reflectivity of the sun’s radiation through the injection of a gas such as sulfur dioxide or another gas and ultimately reacts chemically in the stratosphere to form sulfate aerosols. Alternatively, this approach may be effectuated through the direct injection of sulfuric acid. The high reflectivity of aerosols causes a negative forcing that could ultimately cool the planet. Potential delivery vehicles for stratospheric sulfur injection, include aerosol aircraft, artillery shells, stratospheric balloon, and hoses suspended from towers”
